UX Writing Challenge: Day 1

Scenario: A traveler is in an airport waiting for the last leg of a flight home when their flight gets abruptly canceled due to bad weather.

Challenge
: Write a message from the airline app notifying them of the cancellation and what they need to do next.

Approach: Empathetic yet straight to the point 

Strategy: Flight cancellation is a stressful situation hence the copy written must include both:
 • explanation (weather change which is out of the airline's control) 
 • solution (the next available flight is automatically booked) 
to retain customer satisfaction 

CTA: Succinct call-to-action button for customers to learn more about the situation (the rescheduled flight information, hotel booking, and refund)
